I know you can't see the skirt or the tights or the heels, but MAN it's hard photographing yourself in a public restroom with no full length mirror! Sorry folks, I did the best I could.
Seeking whimsy irreverently via underhanded tactical manuveurs. Descending chaotically beneath plantetary waste. Surging cathartically to placate disaster. Denoting connotations metaphorically in a lagoon of heteroglossic characterization.

Fashion Diary Day Two
Today I decided to rock the Sexy Librarian Look....you know, the tight pencil skirt, patterned tights, silky blouse, high heels, glasses one. So here it is:
Just a Typical Tuesday Night....
My friend Abbey and I hung out at my house last night and did a lot of unusual and a few ordinary things. In no particular order, I give you: Two Funky Chickens With Nothing To Do
1. Made up a dance routine involving direct eye contact while slowly dropping into squats, lifting one leg up at a time with foot flexed, methodical chicken flaps, kicking out the kinks, and sexual hip twists. Practiced to Chicago's "Street Player" on vinyl.
2. Listened to a lot of 70's music on the turntable: Sugar Hill Gang, Chicago, BeeGees, and Donna Summer....with a bit of 40's big band thrown in.
3. Watched "Easy A" for the umpteenth time, after starting three other movies and deciding we weren't in the mood for anything but Emma Stone singing "Pocket Full of Sunshine".
4. Stalked people on Facebook.
5. Talked about people we intensely dislike/hate/are inexplicably annoyed by.
6. Finally went to bed at 2 am!
Yeah, so that was my fantastical evening of excitement and female bonding.

"Room" by Emma Donohue
Because I feel that everything I've posted thus far has been atypically superficial and silly, I now give you a more meaty and satisfying book review. I'm currently reading Emma Donohue's novel "Room", which was recommended to me by one of my favorite English professors. This book is not for the faint of heart. It is the gut wrenching, heart breaking, narrative of a young boy who spends the first five years of his life in a single room with his kidnapped mother. Jack's mother was abducted in a parking lot seven years ago by a perverted psychopath, who she comes to know as Old Nick. She is kept in a garden shed that her captor has fashioned into a kind of impenetrable panic room, where he forces her to have sex with him. Old Nick is Jack's father, though his mother just tells her son that he is a gift from above. "Room" is told from the perspective of five year old Jack, and it is Donohue's deftness at writing from the point of view of a child who has grown up in the most extraordinary circumstances that makes this novel so devastatingly beautiful. Emma Donohue renders a provocative portrait of a boy who knows nothing of the outside world, and who considers Room to be his one and only home. The two get rescued through a daring attempt on the part of Jack, but once they are free, Jack feels displaced and homesick. I'm not done the book, yet, but the two are currently staying at a rehabilitation/mental health facility, and attempting to re-assimilate into society.
I highly recommend "Room" as a haunting, relevant, narrative that illustrates the unimaginable evil that unfortunately exists in the world.

My Fashion Diary
The other day, I received a package of sweaters designed by my brother. They are all one-of-a-kind prototypes that the company he works for decided not to make. They are beautiful and fit me perfectly! I know how ridiculously lucky I am to have a fashion designer for a brother.....and believe me, I appreciate every moment of it. What this box of fashion inspired me to do is start a fashion diary right here on my blog. I figure that because I love fashion, and I'm a clothes horse, and I blog about everything anyway, and I like taking pictures of myself, I might as well include some pics of outfits I've put together that I'm particularly excited by. So here goes:

The sweater was designed for Brinkworth, the scarf is from a boutique in Plymouth, NH called Dresses Unlimited, the hat is handmade, and the glasses are Dolce and Gabbana. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself!

Because I Don't Have Much Time
Because I don't have a lot of time to write a post today, I will simply give you my list of the top 10 Hottest Men Alive, ala People magazine. In no particular order, I give you:
1. Jake Gyllenhaal (sinfully delicious, perhaps the most beautiful man to ever walk the earth, no one compares)
2. Edward Norton (watch The Painted Veil and you'll know why he made the list)
3. Daniel Radcliffe (ok, there is just something so delightfully innocent about him, and it doesn't hurt that he appeared naked on Broadway)
4. Ryan Gosling (NOT because of the Notebook, actually, but because of Crazy, Stupid, Love)
5. Adam Brody (Holy Mother of God, he can have me at any time)
6. Benjamin McKenzie (he appeals to my inner damsel in distress, I think because of the way he always rescued Marissa in The O.C.)
7. Bradley Cooper (impish smile...check, captivating blue eyes...check, abs you could bounce a quarter off of...check!)
8. Seth Meyers (You just want to cuddle with him!)
9. James McAvoy (He looks so sweet, but those eyes let you know he wants to tame the beast!)
10. John Krasinsky (Awwww, so understated and so overlooked)
11. Hugh Jackman (feisty, in touch with his feminine side, and hairy!)
12. Matthew McFayden (pathetic and manly at the same time)
Ok, I know that's twelve, but I couldn't help myself!
